What was wrong: The story ended with a closing section written in the first person, which does not belong in a story published without a byline. The headline stored in our system also differed from the one on the page.
What we did: The closing section was removed, the story now ends on its last sourced fact, the headline was reconciled, and a dated note was added at the foot of the story.

What was wrong: The story carried a sales solicitation inside the article body and passed judgment on contractors it would not name.
What we did: The story was withdrawn. Its address now carries a dated withdrawal notice explaining why, and the page is kept out of search results.
